My Life & Passion for Broadcast Meteorology
Just like our lives, the weather is ever-changing. There is always something new to learn and explore. Growing up, I've always been interested in the weather as long as I can remember. I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA, an area that promises to deliver interesting weather. From quite a few hurricanes, a 14" blizzard, and an EF-3 tornado, I've been through it all. This has only furthered my interest in the weather, and has led me to follow my dream of becoming a broadcast meteorologist.
In 2009 I began attending Penn State University majoring in meteorology with the forecasting and communications option. Within a year of my studies, the National Weather Service in Wakefield, VA invited me to spend the summer with them, and allowed me to get over 100 hours of student work, side-by-side some of the best meteorologists in the area. The following summer I was chosen to intern at WAVY-TV 10, an NBC affiliate news station in Portsmouth, VA. This turned out to be one of the best experiences of mine and has shaped me into the meteorologist I am today.
Currently, I am preparing to enter my final year at Penn State and learning all that I can from the best faculty in the field. I am very active in the department, producing radio and video weather segments for our Campus Weather Service, CNET Channel 7, GoErie.com, WGRC, ComRadio, and several online radio stations. I rotate several roles producing, forecasting, hosting, and reporting for "Weather or Not," a weather magazine show that airs on CNET Channel 7 in Central Pennsylvania. In addition, I practice my forecasting skills by creating useful weather indexes for the Penn State Meteorology Department that are distributed to clients such as Leslie's Pools and the USDA.

As exciting as the weather is to me, I also have several other hobbies. I love photography, anything outdoors, and look forward toward spending time at the beach. There's nothing better than gathering some friends and family for some saltwater fishing or even a hike. I love to meet new people so if you see me around, stop and say, "Hi!"
